PLanning Your Fourth of July Trip: What to Know Before You Go

To ensure your holiday weekend is as seamless as a mountain breeze, we have gathered the essential details for your visit to the Qualla Boundary.

Parking is available on-site at the Old Acquoni Expo Center, 1501 Acquoni Road, Cherokee, NC. Because the 4th of July is one of our most popular weekends, we recommend arriving at least an hour before the Powwow Grand Entry or the fireworks display to secure a spot and enjoy the local vendors.

The events take place outdoors, so we suggest bringing comfortable lawn chairs or blankets for the fireworks display. While many vendors accept cards, having cash on hand is helpful for smaller craft stalls and traditional food stands. Don’t forget your camera, but please remember to listen for the Master of Ceremonies’ instructions regarding when photography is permitted during sacred dances.

Absolutely. The 4th of July celebration is a drug and alcohol-free event designed for all generations. From the awe-inspiring dance competitions to the late-night sky show, there is something to capture the imagination of every family member.
