Join us for a two-week celebration of thrills, chills, and fun for the whole family! From haunted houses, ghost hunts, trick-or-treating, and a mystery-filled scavenger hunt, there’s something spooky for everyone. Whether you celebrate for one night or every night, we promise a hauntingly good time in Cherokee!
ᏥᎩᎵ Sgili (Ghost) Hunt at Oconaluftee Indian Village
Dates: October 17-19, 24-25, 31
Times: Doors open at 7PM, tours begin every 20 minutes
Hear traditional Cherokee stories by fire light then take a guided tour through the Village and adjacent botanical garden trail.
Your tour guide will tell you all about Sgili that have been spotted and experienced inside the Village over the years. You’re welcome to take photos, videos, and audio recordings on your hunt. This is your chance to experience the Oconaluftee Indian Village like never before! Guests will also be guided along the botanical garden trail adjacent to the Village. Learn about the true crime that took place here and be enveloped by the sounds of the woods at night.

The Raven Mocker Screams Haunted House at Mountainside Theatre
Dates: October 24-31
Times: Doors open at 7PM
Visitors will be sent on a quest through the woods and backstage area of the theatre where they will encounter ravens, trapped souls, and more. Will you make it out the other side or will you be caught by the elusive raven?

Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt, Hosted by the Sequoyah Fund
This year’s Long Man Festival in Cherokee isn’t just about celebrating our beautiful river—it’s about solving a mystery! Beloved historian Cricket Jackson was found lifeless by the riverbank, and now it’s up to YOU to uncover the truth. Join us for an immersive experience where local businesses and fascinating characters. Follow the clues, question suspects, and piece together the puzzle of Cricket’s mysterious death.
A Haunted Exhibit at the Museum of the Cherokee People
It’s your it’s your first day as a security guard, and staff have reported eerie sounds and mysterious sights. Are you ready to investigate these strange occurrences and ensure the museum’s security before closing time? The Haunted Exhibit is a family friendly haunted house. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the museum box office. The Haunted Exhibit is open from 9AM to 5PM.
Kids Craft Classes and Storytelling at Qualla Arts & Crafts
Take the kids to Qualla Arts & Crafts crafts, storytelling and more! Kids craft classes will include paper mat weaving, corn bead bracelets, and gourd painting. There’s also pumpkin carving and storytelling. Plus check out some of our awesome vendors! Kids’ Fest is fun for the whole family and FREE! Stop by anytime October from 10AM to 6PM.
