The Rainbow and Ramps festival celebrates two of Cherokee's seasonal delicacies: rainbow trout and ramps, both with deep roots in Cherokee culture. The event takes place on March 28th from 10:30 to 2 pm and includes a traditional meal of fresh-caught trout, ramps, and other seasonal vegetables, as well as popular regional music and an all-ages Horseshoe Tournament.

Learn Eastern Band of Cherokee pottery styles, the history of the craft and more at the first Didanisisgi Pottery Festival April 16th. Several renowned potters will be sharing their techniques in on-site demonstrations and will have their work available for sale along with traditional Cherokee cuisine served by The North American Indian Women’s Association (NAIWA).

Don’t miss the Music on the River concert series this summer in Cherokee. Every Friday and Saturday evening you can bring your whole family to a stage right on the Oconaluftee River to hear live bands play everything from blues to bluegrass to rock and roll.

From October 28–30, the much anticipated fly-fishing competition, Rumble in the Rhododendron, takes place along 2.2 miles of catch-and-release waters in Cherokee, NC. In this tagged fly-fishing tournament, two-person teams put their skills to the test for the chance to win a share of $10,000.
