Experience Cherokee on Horseback.

Forget cars. Explore this natural wonderland by foot or by hoof. These trails were made for one or the other. Up high on your horse’s back, you can let your eyes drift over the quiet foliage and bustle of forest creatures hiding and peeking out to see you as you clop by. What was that streak of red? Could it be the Scarlet Tanager? Is that cave by the trail the entrance to the spirit world where the Yunwi Tsunsdi dwelled? If so, you’re in good hands. They are known by the Cherokee to be a kind-hearted race of spirits who once helped lost children find their way home.

the Magic of Horseback Riding in the Smokies

The Smoky Mountains are some of the oldest mountains in the world. The magic and wonder of this land is apparent the moment you arrive, and spending time outdoors in nature is beneficial, whether you sit by the river and relax or hike to the top of a mountain. One incredible way to experience the Smokies is to ride the trails on a horse as people have done for hundreds of years. Horseback riding in the Great Smoky Mountains is like going back in time before modern transportation permeated the mountains. Enjoy the scenic views, the river, and the forest as you leisurely ride through ancient mountain paths. Imagine you are in another era when all people had was a horse, the trail, and themselves for miles.
