Join us for a month long celebration of thrills, chills, and fun for the whole family! From ghost hunts, to haunted trails, and a mystery-filled scavenger hunt, there’s something spooky for everyone. Whether you celebrate for one night or every night, we promise a hauntingly good time in Cherokee!

ᏥᎩᎵ Sgili (Ghost) Hunt at Oconaluftee Indian Village

Dates: October 16-18, 23-24, 30 & November 1
Times: 7PM -10PM

Hear true fates from our staff and join the hunt for the paranormal.

Your tour guide will tell you all about Sgili that have been spotted and experienced inside the Village over the years. You’re welcome to take photos, videos, and audio recordings on your hunt. This is your chance to experience the Oconaluftee Indian Village like never before! Guests will also be guided along the botanical garden trail adjacent to the Village. Learn about the true crime that took place here and be enveloped by the sounds of the woods at night.

Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt, Hosted by the Sequoyah Fund
This year’s Long Man Festival in Cherokee isn’t just about celebrating our beautiful river—it’s about solving a mystery! Beloved historian Cricket Jackson was found lifeless by the riverbank, and now it’s up to YOU to uncover the truth. Join us for an immersive experience where local businesses and fascinating characters. Follow the clues, question suspects, and piece together the puzzle of Cricket’s mysterious death.

Fear as a Teacher
From the Raven Mocker to the Nunnehi, Cherokee legends use fear not to scare, but to teach. In fear as a Teacher, discover how traditional stories and haunting imagery pass down values, protect our people, and preserve culture. Featuring Cherokee art that embodies motifs in these timeless stories, the mini-exhibit is an expression of Cherokee oral history, highlighting the
importance of following our Cherokee lessons and values. Viewers are invited to experience the power of story that has and always will exist as a central part of Cherokee culture. October 1st-31st, daily from 10AM-6PM.

Kids Craft Classes and Storytelling at Qualla Arts & Crafts
Take the kids to Qualla Arts & Crafts crafts, storytelling and more! Kids craft classes will include paper mat weaving, corn bead bracelets, and gourd painting. There’s also pumpkin carving and storytelling. Plus check out some of our awesome vendors! Kids’ Fest is fun for the whole family and FREE! Stop by anytime October from 10AM to 6PM.
