Reserve Fund Application on Behalf of Minors and Incompetent Members (18 & 21yr olds)

-MINORS RESERVE FUND APPLICATIONS FOR THOSE UNDER 21YRS OLD MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY THAT PERSONS ORIGINAL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED. We will make copies of your originals and mail them back to you via certified mail.

-Deadline Dates: Due Quarterly; March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st.

***Note: Junaluska Leadership has brought a proposal before Tribal Council for consideration that if passed will affect minors reserve distribution requirements. The proposal is that E.B.C.I require all Minors applying for their 18yr old Minors Reserve Fund be required to successfully complete a financial literacy course, on-line, before they are considered eligible to receive their minors reserve distribution. Direct Deposit Application

Deadline Dates: April 1st for June Per Capita and October 1st for December Per Capita Distribution. Direct Deposit deadline dates are absolutely final. If Direct Deposit Applications or changes to prior Direct Deposit information are not received by these deadline dates, no changes will be made to said applications or information.

Deaths: Please Notify Nancy Maney at (828)497-8110 in the event of the death of an Enrolled Member. Letters of Executor and Death Certificates must be submitted to the Enrollment Office.

Enrollment Cards: Enrollment cards are issued to all enrolled members of the EBCI. A photo ID enrollment card is issued to members 16 years old and older. You must present yourself in person and provide identifying information to the Enrollment Office staff to receive a photo ID. The fee for duplicate enrollment cards is $10. This fee must be paid at the Budget & Finance Office prior to requesting a duplicate card. Enrollment cards are released only to the enrolled member or their legal guardian. Please contact Melanie Lambert at (828) 497-8109.Power of Attorney: As of July 06, 2006, in accordance with Resolution No. 395, the Tribal Enrollment Office shall not accept Power of Attorneys.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Tribal Council of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians assembled, at which a quorum is present, that:

a. The Enrollment Office shall not accept POAs.

b. The Enrollment Office shall not be required to maintain records of POAs.

c. If a tribal member wants to change their mailing address, they must submit a change of address form. The agent named in their POA shall not be allowed to change the member’s mailing address.
